Information dissemination through interactive sessions in clubs, schools, colleges and the Society Help Line.
ARDSI, Delhi Chapter has a commitment to promote an understanding of Dementia. It seeks to define and develop quality care and core services, to reach as many people with Dementia/Alzheimer's, as possible. The Delhi Chapter also works in partnership with other organizations which shares its aims.
“Remembering those who can not remember.” We are establishing close ties with the families in traveling the long and difficult road.
We serve as a primary resource centre through our Help Line in the Delhi metropolitan area.
Our trained volunteers provide counseling over the phone as well as through home visits. Diagnosis is arranged at our memory clinic at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RMLH) by Neurologists. This facility is free of cost. Several public functions are held to disseminate information. Regular interactive sessions are held in various groups including Senior Citizens groups in various localities.
A Care Givers Guide and other handout materials related to Alzheimer's is available with us. This guide is available for sale with us at a nominal price of Rs.100/- only.
Some of these consultants on our referral panel are Dr. Dey & Dr. Manjari Tripathi (AIIMS), and Dr. Anand (RMLH)
ARDSI of India is an active NGO affiliated to Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) UK, having its National Office in Cochin. Dr. Jacob Roy is Chairperson of ARDSI and our President Smt. Nirmala M. Narula, the Vice-Chairperson. The Delhi Chapter was established on March 8, 1994.
This disease occurs in the human brain which has a network of billions of nerve cells and connections known as synapses that become non-functional as part of aging. It is similar to slow moving traffic when lanes on a highway are blocked. This disease usually starts to manifest after the age of 65 years, but could also start earlier. That is why early diagnosis is of extreme importance.
1.
recent memory loss or misplacing things

It’s
all right if you forget…….
Whether
it is Monday or Wednesday
Why you went to the next room,
Where you left your keys.
It’s not all right if you
forget……
That you have already had breakfast and ask for it again,
How to make a telephone call,
How to find you way around your home or the way upstairs.
The names of your spouse or children,
Whether it is summer or winter
